Why Omega?

omegawomen.jpg
The Omegas began as a act of rebellion against the Alpha Mom’s implication that a woman is lazy if she’s not spending her precious time rushing from one activity to the next. We reject the competition that tells us we must be size 6, drive a new vehicle the size of Massachusetts, and feed our children organic snacks when a poptart will do just as well.

We, because we are women, wives, mothers, girlfriends, are worthy because we love the people around us, and show it with spontaneous acts of generosity and fun. We allow our boysfriends and husbands their beer gut, because they allow us our generous proportions. We laugh at the women who work frantically to be perfect, because we know perfection is in the heart, not the body, and certainly not in what other people think of us. We are the opposite of Alpha. We laugh at Alpha.

If you’re an Omega, if you think competition for worth is SO Junior High, capture the Omega image for your own site, put that sucker up and shout to the world that YOU PLAY IN THE GRASS!

I can’t believe I figured this out on the first try. I made a link button out of your site logo. Copy the HTML below and paste it into your blog for a button that links to this site.

This all reads like latin magic to me, and I really don’t know if everything is necessary. Maybe someone with programming skills can edit it. But it does work! So I need KUDOS.

Ooops. The HTML disappeared. I’ll try to send it another way… So much for computer skills.

Once you get it up I’ll make you a martini. You could send the code to me at rootietoot@gmail.com and I’ll see if I can figure out how to make it work for the world.

I’m officially a Beta Mum – it’s what I call my blog.
I’m with you all the way… but will have to ask my brother how to put the logo thingumyjig onto my page. I just write in it.

Hmm… you say that alpha competitiveness is a bad thing, but you also say that you laugh at alphas? And come up with a logo specifically to say that you’re not an alpha, and that your way is better than the alpha way? Smells like competition to me.

A little irony, anyone?

Blogosaurus – I’m not sure how to answer your question without asking another question: Did you misunderstand? Omega “way” is not better. Different, but not better – comparatively speaking.

Or did you mean “better for me” when you said better than Alpha.

Can we stop with the skinny-bashing already???? Women come in all shapes and sizes and not every woman wearing a single-digit size is an anorexic or exercise addict.

I’m a naturally petite woman who comes from a long line of naturally petite women. Wearing a 4P does not make me any better or worse a person than someone who wears a larger size. God just made me small, the way He gave me brown hair and blue eyes.

An Omega mom is not defined by having “generous proportions” but by accepting her body *THE WAY IT IS*!!!!

I love this! I am so tired of moms comparing themselves based on superficial things! I love the mom standing on her head in the top banner!
